Welcome!
- Oanh Love
- Hi! Welcome to my myriad of foodie excursions! If it is comestible I will eat it! I use to be a picky eater but I realized that I’ve been missing out! If you don't open up your palate, YOU HAVE NOT LIVED. I learned to appreciate other cultures through different cuisines & I have TONS of favorites! Caribbean (I’m an east coast girl at heart! Jamaican patties were my staple!), Middle Eastern (I CRAVE basmati rice.. like CRAVE), sushi & Izakaya (if I die tomorrow I would like to have uni and ankimo to be the last thing I eat), Italian (I am WEAK to burrata with EVOO & balsamic dressing drizzled all over on a bed of sour dough), Philipino food (Pork sisig is SO effin good!), Indian (garlic naan dipped in tikka marsala MMMM!), AUTHENTIC Mexican (lamb soup from a Mexican crawl in East LA WOWED me!) and to my own very ethnic food such as Vietnamese (bo kho, bo luc lac, bun rieu, etc. etc. ETC!), Hainanese (I love Savoy!) and French (uhh EVERYTHING!). I'm the happiest when I find a great hole in the wall, appreciate the occasional fine dining experience (not too often to lose its luster), and best of all, good ol’ home cooking. I just love ALL FOOD.

GNO at Angelini Osteria
Angelini Osteria is my most favorite Italian eatery! It's not greasy and everything tastes so fresh. I had a GNO, which means "girls' night out", dinner here and we didn't go crazy on ordering because you know... we need to keep our girlish figure and all. Just had a few of the popular items and kept it simple... except when it came to dessert. One wasn't enough for the group's cookie monster haha.
Lasagna Verde
The best shit on Earth. Really.. it is. It has the craziest meltability ever. If you don't order this when you are here you are a complete idiot. It's a MUST.
Seared Ahi Tuna with Eggplant al Funghetto and Basil Oil Sauce
I only had a small bite of this but I thought the eggplant was pretty tasty although I thought the seared ahi was plain Jane though. This entree didn't strike me too much and I must say this was my least favorite.
Halibut in Guazzetto with Cherry Tomatoes and Spinach
Again just a small bite... it was light in flavor but I would have liked it if the halibut was cooked a little less. It was a tad bit dry to me.... just a tad. I'm just being very picky here.
Tagliatelle with Duck Ragout
My entree and I loved it! I ordered this last time except the last time had lamb. It is still delicious where the tagliatelle was freshly made and not too al dente. The ragout sauce was light and not heavy or greasy.
Lobster Salad with Peaches and Mixed Greens
Dang it I didn't try this one! Looks good and heard it was good.
I didn't take a photo of the dessert menu to know what this one was called but my party and I were not impressed with this one. The cookie underneath had no sweetness to it at all and it actually made the whole dessert worse. The mocha ice cream was pretty strong in coffee flavor. I say do not order this if it is recommended.
Creme di Mascarpone with Strawberries
The other item here that's the best shit on earth. In other words STILL the best dessert I have EVER had! So creamy, smooth, and freaken good! It was basically like eating scoops of cream. So bad but so so delicious.
This time around I found some misses with some of the entrees that didn't impress me too much but then again my palate craves very flavory tastes.

Just those seven dishes for the five of y'all? Were you even close to full? ;)
Yeah we were! Hahahah. We went to a nightclub after so we didn't want to look fat after.
The highlight of this review was the last pic.
Holy Moly.
Lasagna Verde looks incredible and the Seared Ahi Tuna with Eggplant al Funghetto and Basil Oil Sauce...I would kill for that.
hehehe :P
I've wanted to try that lasagna verde for a long time...looks like it's a must order!
Thanks! :)
What are you waiting for, Darin? I saw your Yelp review on French Laundry. You manage to go there. Gotta make those rezes for Angelini Osteria pronto!
Kione, go there and try it!
There's just too many restaurants, not enough time! I still have to go to Animal, too, and I think that's closer to the top of my list right now..
Yeah Animal is the must then Angelini Osteria.
